One person standing
One person standing
Two things people shared that we keep coming back to.
The power of words
In 2015, Mohammed Qahtani won the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking with a speech called “The Power of Words”.
Video: Toastmasters International, on YouTube. The speech and the video belong to Mohammed Qahtani and Toastmasters International. We link to it and do not host a copy.
Now watch what one person can do
Twenty-three seconds. A herd is coming, and he does not run. It is a film clip, not a news report, and we say so. We cannot confirm it is real footage and it looks dramatised, so we treat it as a picture of an idea and not as an event: one person who stands still for someone else can change the whole ending.
Post by Pradeep Kumar on LinkedIn. The clip is credited @PICKUPLINES and belongs to its makers. Shown with LinkedIn’s own embed; we host no copy. We cannot confirm it is real footage. Open it on LinkedIn →
Why this is our mission
“Not my problem” is how the world got this broken. “I own it” is how we start fixing it, and it starts with one person who stands still for someone else: one child first, then one elder, one river, one forest. That is the mission, in this order: orphans and street children, elders, rivers and oceans, forests. We are not there yet, and we say so.
No patents filed. No prototypes built. No revenue from the inventions yet. Real, or not said at all. Where we actually stand.
