Pillar two

Elders

Picture one man. Fifty years a builder, a nurse or a farmer, carrying sixty to eighty years of knowing, in a chair with nobody left to hand it to.

He knows how things are actually made, grown, fixed and held together. We move the people who built the world into rooms designed to keep them quiet, and we call it care.

In June 2025 the World Health Organization reported that one person in six is lonely, and linked loneliness to about 871,000 deaths a year.

Elders are the answer to the first problem

An orphan needs a family. An elder has a lifetime to give and nobody to give it to. Put them under one roof and each one helps the other. A shared home does not run for an afternoon. It runs for a childhood.

That is why elders come second on this list, and why the two pillars are designed together: the same community hall, the same households.

Honest status. This is a design and a belief, not yet a programme. We have not housed anyone yet.
